Myrna May Borg's Obituary
Myrna May Died peacefully in her sleep November 7, 2023 at the age of 99. She was born August 1,1924 to Rayola Cook and William Turner, in Salt Lake City, Utah in what was to become gaggle of
sisters.
Myrna attended Salt Lake City Schools and studied Liberal Arts at the University of Utah. As a
young woman she worked for the Union Pacific Rail Road as a telegrapher. She then had a career as a stewardess with United Airlines. She married David H. Borg April 26, 1949.
She was a lifelong learner and shared her talents, while raising her family she continued with her
art lessons. She also served as cultural refinement instructor for the LOS Relief Society for 25
years. She started a book club in the early 70's on Eastmoor Road in Salt Lake City, with other
mothers in the neighborhood to read the time/life great book series. She was a very talented seamstress and taught an entire group of young ladies how to sew over several afternoons in the church gym. Myrna was active in the political community and volunteered often as an election official.
After raising 5 children Myrna returned to school, she studied business administration at Utah
Technical College. While there she earned the distinction of being named in who's who of American
Colleges. She was in the same graduating class as her youngest daughter Myrna Lynn in 1981. She
also returned to work for a time at Equifax as a mortgage credit reporter where she also earned
accolades as an employee.
She is survived by: Sons, David W. (Cindy) and Steven Borg: a daughter Myrna Lynn Mittelstedter:
sister, Tammy (Dahle) Peterson: 12 grand Children: 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great- great-
grandchildren; She was proceeded in death by three sisters, her husband David H, her eldest
daughter Christine and her youngest son John
Friends and family can come to Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary located at 372 East 100 South SLC,
UT with a Viewing at 11:00 AM followed by a Graveside service at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at
12:00 noon.
