Proselia Edulia Madrid's Obituary
1928 - 2018\r\nOur beloved Proselia Edulia Madrid, 90, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and sister, passed away April 5, 2018 of natural causes. Proselia was born March 2, 1928 to Juan and Caytana Ortiz in Taos, New Mexico. She was a dedicated nurse for 18 years at Holy Corss Hospital, now Salt Lake Regional. During her retirement she enjoyed spending her time doing charity work with various retirement centers, the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels. She loved helping others. She was a devoted wife to John Anthony Madrid for 45 years until his death in 1993. Proselia was a loving mother to her six children, John Madrid (Elenita) Los Lunas, New Mexico, Frank Madrid (deceased), Raymond Madrid (deceased), Nick Madrid , Salt Lake City, William Madrid (deceased) and Irene Madrid (Ted) Salt Lake City.\r\nShe is survived by several brothers and sisters living in Colorado and New Mexico, as well as daughters-in-law Kiyoko M. and Linda C. She will be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Villa who cared for Proselia for the last six years of her life, especially nurses Joelle and Terri as well as administrator Brent Wilson. Thank you to Symbii Hospice for the tender loving care they gave to her in her last days.\r\nA Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Monday April 9, 2018 at Saint Joseph Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Lane 1940 South 500 East). A Vigil Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday April 8th at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, where friends may call 1 hour prior. Our family would like to invite everyone to join us in celebrating Proselia's life at a catered luncheon at St. Joseph Villa Monday, at 4:00 p.m. Committal: Mount Calvary Cemetery.
