Rebecca Valdez's Obituary
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Sister & Friend passed away on June 24th, 2017 at home surrounded by family, after living a long blessed life.\r\n\r\nRebecca was born in Cebolla, New Mexico on September 26th, 1921, to Felipita Martinez. She was raised in Ensenada New Mexico.\r\n\r\nShe married Carlos J. Valdez on December 9th, 1940. Together they had 6 children, Charlie, (Patricia), Becky (Ron) Lindsley, Nora Valdez, Phillip (Lupina) Valdez, Manuel (Helen) Valdez, Elizabeth (Scott) Jordan.\r\n\r\nShe was a devout Catholic & a long time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. She retired after many years of service at the Cathedral of the Madeline.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by 5 of her 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and her sister Shirley Martinez.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her Mother Felipita Martinez Duran, Husband Carlos, son Charlie, granddaughter Theresa (Lala), and great granddaughter Crystal, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to give special thanks to Brighton Home Health and Hospice (Maria, Debbie, Meagan) for their loving care & help.\r\n\r\nVisitation, 5:00pm and Rosary, 6:00pm, will take place on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South.\r\n\r\nFuneral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 11:00 am, 715 West 300 North. Committal Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Mausoleum 4th Ave. & T Street.
