I have very fond memories of family gatherings at holidays and birthdays. Many a Sunday involved our families gathering for afternoon pastries and evening "Abendbrot".
Gina would serve us grape juice. We played games and one could always expect a walk around the neighborhood where Gina would look at neighbors' flowers and yards. She is a great lady.
