Richard James Garcia Jr.'s Obituary
Richard James Garcia, Jr. (Richie) our beloved son, brother, and father passed away after experiencing physical and mental health conditions, and now is finally at peace.
Richard a high school graduate of Judge Memorial Catholic High School and student at the University of Utah created many friendships. Richard was best known for his loving heart, charming smile, foolhardy spirit, generosity, and love for sports. As a die hard Raider Nation fan, without a doubt, you could hear his cheers a mile away. Richard enjoyed comedy especially Ridiculousnous and Ghost Hunters who he loved to watch with his dad and sons. He bordered on hording/collecting random Knick knacks, and making people laugh with his infectious belly laughs. His most cherished times were spent with his sons, Solano and Marcel. Whom he loved endlessly and who were his ultimate pride and joy and reason for living.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents (Ortiz/Capeles) and paternal grandparents (Garcia/Govea). He is survived by immediate family, sons Solano Garcia and Marcel Garcia, sister Nichole M. Garcia, and parents Richard Sr. and Julia Garcia.
A celebration of life will take place at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home on Wednesday July 14 from 6-8pm. Due to COVID please wear a mask if you are not fully vaccinated. Richard was a down to earth soul so the celebration will be very casual with a Raiders theme. We ask if you have Raiders gear please wear it and if you don’t have any come in silver (light gray) and black. Friends, neighbors, and those who knew him are welcome to attend and share their loving memories with our family.
