Rita Boren's Obituary
Rita Boren age 60, passed away in Salt Lake City on December 22, 2021. She was born in Salt Lake on October 6, 1961 and lived most of her life in Salt Lake City.
Rita will be missed by many, as she was always the life of the party, her lighthearted personality endeared her to all. She loved her getaways to Wendover, her time spent with nieces and nephews and dinners with her family. Nobody was ever a stranger to Rita, and she made friends everywhere she went, and within minutes you were referred to as “honey”, whether you liked it or not.
Even as Rita faced difficulties with her health in the past few years, she seemed to always find humor in every situation, and we will miss her sense of humor and her infectious laugh.
Rita is survived by her son, Matthew Gardikis, her mother, Catherine Caputo Hoskins, her siblings, Jeff Foster (Denise), Mary Jo Lindula (Shane) and Tony Hoskins. She is also survived and will be missed by nieces and nephews (too numerous to list) and her longtime companion and caregiver, Scott Major.
Rita was preceded in death by her dad, Thomas Hoskins, sister Gina Perkins, and brother Michael Foster.
The family would like to thank all of the care givers who helped care for Rita over the past few years, including the staff at IHC, Dr. Harwood of Community Health Centers, and the many specialists who rendered her care.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
