Rose L. Avila's Obituary
1932-2019\r\nOur beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Rose Lopez Avila age 87, passed away on May 7, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born on April 18, 1932 in El Rito, New Mexico to her loving parents Lucas & Amadita Lopez. Rose had a beautiful voice and she loved to sing with her brother Joe while he played the guitar at family gatherings. She was also a great dancer and she loved to go dancing at the Terrace ballroom with her brothers and friends. Rose went to school to get her CNA and she worked as a nursing assistant at Johanna's care center and others for 30 plus years. Rose was a great cook and we enjoyed many family gatherings at her house, and she loved being surrounded by her family.\r\nRose is survived by her children Grace Mishenko (Vic), Ruben Avila, Rose Ann Avila, James Avila, Belarmino (Lisa) Avila, brother Phil Lopez, sister Leonila Dominguez, Eloy Lopez, sister-in-laws Marie Lopez, Toni Lopez and 15 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren and many more nieces and nephews and extended family.\r\nRose is preceded in death by her husband Florencio, parents Lucas and Amadita, son Anselmo and infant son, brothers Joe and Carlos, sister-in-law Dorothy.\r\nA Vigil and celebration of Rose's life will be at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary Sunday May 12th from 3:00-5:00pm. The address is 372 east 100 South, SLC Utah.\r\n
