Sherry and I were childhood friends. I lived two doors west. I have many found memories of summer days playing outside and inside. I especially remember our street Mickey Mouse Club. Sherry was Sharon, of course, and I was Darlene. We ordered official Mouseketeer shirts and hats. We watched it every afternoon and on Wednesday’s all the kids on the street gathered at the Barker house to sing and dance along with our TV Mouseketeers. I remember the Guthrie basement where we played for hours. Because I don’t live too far away, I would sometime run into Sherrie. I always enjoyed her cheery disposition. I am hoping I can make it to the funeral mass.
