Sharon A. LaTour's Obituary
1953-2016\r\nIt is with heavy hearts that we announce that Sharon Annette LaTour, 63, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed from this earth to her rightful place in heaven, from complications following her battle with bladder cancer.\r\nSharon was born on July 1, 1953 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Melba Evans Blackburn and David Jackson. She spent most of her formative years in Chicago, IL attending Loretta Academy, before receiving her bachelors from Northern Illinois University where she was proud member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. After visiting Utah in the late 70s, she decided to never leave and made it her home. She married Jean LaTour and the two had a son Jarett LaTour. Sharon was a dedicated mother to her son, a loving sister, and beloved friend. She loved hard. She was baptized as a Catholic with her son and her faith was her rock. She loved to spend time playing Bunco with her friends, taking trips to Wendover and shopping for a good bargain. She was a strong woman, but unfortunately her body couldn't keep up with her will. The world will be less without her.\r\nShe is survived by her son Jarett, mother Melba, father David, sisters Wanda "Sue", Anita and Davette, along with nieces and nephews, dear friend Debbie Biddle among many other, and her pet babies. Thank you to all of the doctors and those that supported her during her health struggles.\r\nA Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday August 5th, 10:00 am at the Cathedral of the Madeleine 309 East South Temple. A vigil service will be held Thursday, August 4th 7:00 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary 372 East 100 South where friends may call from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Committal Mount Olivet Cemetery 1342 East 500 South.\r\nIn lieu of flower the family asks that you make a donation to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
