Steven Kent Hogge's Obituary
Steven Kent Hogge, 51, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Pioneer Valley Hospital (Jordan Valley Medical Center) in West Valley City, due to a pulmonary embolism.
Steve was born on April 12, 1970 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Jeanette Walker & Robert M. Hogge. As the son of an Air Force officer, he moved frequently and lived in many places over the course of his life, eventually graduating from Commerce High School in Commerce, Texas in 1988. Following high school, Steve attended Ricks College, where he played basketball. Steve and his first wife Jami (Cannon) gave birth to a daughter Kenzie in 1999. On May 7, 2006 he married Lee Ann Berry in Las Vegas, Nevada. They recently celebrated their 15th anniversary in Salt Lake City where the couple reside.
Steve will be remembered as a gentle giant to his many nieces and nephews. He was tenderhearted when it came to animals and was wonderful with little kids, who thought climbing on his 6'10" frame was like playing on a human jungle gym. He was an active and involved parent maintaining a positive and close relationship with his daughter, and he adored his granddaughter. He was kindhearted, gregarious and naturally athletic. Always adept at sports, Steve played everything from baseball at a young age, to basketball throughout his youth, to bowling as an adult.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Hogge of Salt Lake City, his mother, Jeanette Hogge, Layton, his daughter Kenzie Hogge (Joey Preston), Moab, a granddaughter, Harper, his older brother Scott Hogge (Chelley), North Ogden, his younger brother Doug Hogge (Chellene), Layton, and his only sister Lisa Wright (Ryan), Sherwood, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father Robert M. Hogge.
A celebration of life was held Tuesday, June 22, 2021 for family members, at Neil O'Donnell funeral home.
