Steven J. McCarty's Obituary
Steve McCarty\r\n\r\nNov 25, 1955 ~ Sept 03, 2015\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWith total devastation and disbelief, we say goodbye to my honey/husband, our dad/papa, brother and friend. Steve passed away at home unexpectedly Thursday September 03, 2015. Steve was born in Salt Lake City to Lester Allen and Ruth Ann McCarty on November 25, 1955. He and Patti celebrated their thirty-sixth wedding anniversary this last August 25th. Steve was always upbeat and in his glory when he could lend a hand in any way to anyone. Steve worked hard to achieve goals to get through school and receive his masters in Social Work from the University of Utah. For twenty-five years he worked for IHC and made many friends along the way. He was a role model and mentor to many. Among many of the things Steve enjoyed was golf, baseball, fishing and skiing. Steve cherished his wife and children/grandchildren. He did it all and it will be nearly impossible to pick up the many tasks he did for us all. He was the rock we clung to and we find ourselves not knowing how to continue. Special thanks to neighbors Chris and Emily DeHaan and everyone who has reached out and provided us with support and love during our time of grief and loss. Steve is survived by his wife Patti, children Greg, and Julee, grandchildren; Donovan, Coral , Chanelle, Anthony (Yeraldyn ), and Sierra. He is also survived by siblings Edith, Illene, Lynn, Kathy. Jim (Helen) Smith, brother and best friend. Preceded in death by parents, son Jody, siblings; Pat , Allen, and Jenna.\r\n\r\nServices will be Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
