Susan Di Giacoma's Obituary
1955 - 2016\r\nOn October 18, Susan Di Giacoma, our precious and beloved sister, passed away peacefully at home, cared for by her family. Susan was born on February 18, 1955, to James Vincent Di Giacoma and Evelyn (Cummings) Di Giacoma. Susan was the best friend of everyone she met. She was a devoted fan of all University of Utah teams, the Salt Lake Bees, the Utah Jazz, the Utah Grizzlies, RSL and the Chicago Cubs. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, working crosswords, playing bingo at St. Patrick's Hall, coloring and watching and listening to sports. For twenty years her greatest pleasure was spending days at the Neighborhood House Riverside Adult Day Center where she enjoyed the company of her many friends. She brought constant joy to her family and all those she knew.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sharon Leslie Di Giacoma. She is survived by her sister Sandra (Jon) Renak, her brothers Pete James and James Vincent, Jr., and her niece Jamie Giacoma Stevens.\r\nThe family thanks the Huntsman Cancer Center and Dr. Weldon Gilcrease III, Hearts for Hospice and all the health care providers who lovingly treated Susan in her last years.\r\nA funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1040 West 400 South. A vigil service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.\r\nFor friends who wish to make donations in memory of Susan, the family suggests organizations that provide services to children.
