Susie Miera Kelly's Obituary
2/18/1937 - 8/25/2018\r\n\r\nOur Beautiful and beloved mother, wife, grandmother and sister Susie M. Kelly, daughter of Louis and Bernadette Miera was born February 18, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away peacefully at her home on August 25, 2018, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of her family.\r\nSusie married Max R. Kelly on September 9, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. They had 5 children: Max, Diana, Anthony, Ruby, Fred Kelly, Vanessa Hernandez. Our beautiful mother, wife, grandmother, and sister, had a contagious smile and personality that would have you laughing or in tears. We are sad you had to leave, and we understand our hearts are forever broken, but we know it was time. No more pain and suffering, go and spread your wings and fly with the angels, because you are our angel.\r\nSusie's heart was her family. They came first and her time second. She loved to play Bingo on Saturdays, and would complain every time she didn't win, but always continued to go faithfully. This was one of many highlights and getaways that she did. Susie's life was: Bingo, Wendover (Cha Ching Ching!), soap operas (as she called chapters) for 50 years. Her yard was priority, going out to eat, family gatherings, and most of all cooking and making her tortillas. She loved her Elvis and Cheyenne and her new dog Honey and Yogi who she took care of and kept her busy, she enjoyed having them. Susie took special care of her plant Mary Jane no matter how she felt, that was her baby. She would talk to it and say "How's my baby?", and clean and water it daily. Susie made impressions on all who knew her and those that crossed in her path, as well as her kids, grandkids, and great greats. Susie was a supporter of many charitable foundations to help the less fortunate; she had a giving heart and soul. She would always listen and gave advice, but would always tell you how she felt. Susie made it known the love she had for Lil Ruby and Jr. Lil Ruby pushed her grandma Susie to fight to keep living, because Susie wanted to see her graduate. That was mom's dream, but everyone knows that all her grandkids affected her life with stories. I wish I could write them all but you all are in her heart and that's what kept her going. So be proud, because she was of you. We wish we could write all the special people in her life, so remember Susie and be proud and honored to say, I knew that touching lady. My family, my friends, strangers, nurses, doctors, dogs, not cats she chased them with a broom. Mom did not want to leave, but she lost her Viola (Blacky) she said it's not fair, and now I say it's not fair mother. We want to give a special thanks to Salt Lake Regional ICU, and her better caretaker Brenda Kelly, who did everything a daughter could to make her days comfortable, and enjoy their time spent on Fridates and go MIA and laugh and cracking jokes, just being silly and doing what she wanted to do. Every day was her day. Mom I'm gonna miss our time, it's not going to be the same without you.\r\nSusie is survived by her husband Max Kelly, children Fred (Brenda) Kelly and Vanessa (Tavio) Hernandez, siblings Benny Miera, Ernie Miera, Theresa Chavez, Linda Miera, and Betty Kely, and 21 grandchildren, 26 great- great grandchildren including one on the way.\r\nShe is preceded in death by, parents Louis and Bernadette Miera, Children Max Jr., Diana, Anthony, and Ruby Kelly, siblings Louis Jr., Joe, Lily, and Margaret Miera and numerous family members.\r\nMom you will be forever missed. We love you (I do too too)\r\nA Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1040 W. 400 S. Salt Lake City. A Vigil Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 31st at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 E. 100 S. Salt Lake City, where friends may gather 1 hour prior.
