Virginia Farguson Divino's Obituary
1924-2017\r\nVirginia Gloria Farguson Divino, 92 passed away at the William E. Christofferson Veterans Nursing Home on June 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother with a teasing sense of humor that made you smile. She was married to her sweetheart, Tony for 65 wonderful years.\r\nVirginia attended Salt Lake City Schools. Her first job was at Woolworth's Five and Dime Soda Fountain Counter. After WWII was over she began working at Salt Lake Knit Garment Factory as a seamstress which prepared her for working at La Voy's Clothing factory. She worked for nearly 30 years in all as a seamstress and floor manager. Virginia loved to sew, crochet, knit and cross stitch on plastic canvas and do many other crafts. If a family member needed a clothing item fixed or hemmed you could get it done by calling Mom/Grandma/Aunt Virgie. Virginia also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling with her husband, Tony. She was really proud of being able to shoot and bag her own deer and thread a worm on a hook and catch the largest fish on an outing.\r\nVirginia was born in Salt Lake City on July 17, 1924, to Lester Fredrick Farguson and Inez Dolores Cottis. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, mother, Inez Dolores Prettyman, her father, Fredrick Farguson, and her brother, Paul Booth, her sister, Natalie Abberman, brother, David Lynn Farguson and sister, Catherine Booth. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Lacy (Scottie)) Scott and her son, Tony V. (Cynthia) Divino, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren, her sister, Jean Woods, her brother David Booth, her sister Jeannette Miller, and her brother Leslie (Diane) Haws\r\nA Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 29th at Saint Francis Catholic Church, 4501 West 5415 South, Kearns, with a viewing and family prayer one half hour prior to the mass. A Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28th at Neil O'Donnell Mortuary, 372 E. 100 S. Salt Lake City, with a viewing 1 hour prior. Committal will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave. & 'T' Street.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Alzheimer's Foundation or to the Veteran's Nursing Home or Hospital.
