Wayne Young's Obituary
Wayne Young, 88, of Upper Arlington, entered into rest Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born November 19, 1924 in Onarga, Ill.
Wayne was a veteran of WWII in the Military Police providing security on the Manhattan facility at Richland, Washington.
He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management at Purdue University. Member of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity and Delta Lambda Sigma Honorary Fraternity. Thirty-Four year employee of Motorists Mutual Insurance Co. where he retired as office manager.
Member of the Riverside Methodist Church, American Rose Society, Central Ohio Rose Society, and Upper Arlington Senior Center. Wayne was active in table tennis, an amateur photographer, avid reader and history lover.
Preceded in death by his wife, Aulga; son, Lee Sheppelman; parents, and sister, Wilna Mae Deitelhoff. Wayne will be missed by his loving daughter, Gay (David) Eberhart; brother, Gene (Bev) Sheppelman; granddaughter, Jennifer (Troy) McLeland; grandson, Tyler Sheppelman; great-grandchildren, Kenly and Logan; cousins, Opal Deitelhoff and Helen Warns; and nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. at ABC NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH, where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013. Interment Kingwood Memorial Park.
