Willie Scholte's Obituary
Wilhelmina Smit Scholte known to everyone as Willie, died early Sunday morning, December 9, 2018 at the age of 90.\r\n\r\nShe was born June 20, 1928 to Pieter and Margretha Smit in Groningen, the Netherlands. Willie married Jan Scholte on May 9, 1951 and they were blessed with eight children. In 1953, they immigrated to America and settled in Salt Lake City.\r\n\r\nWillie was active in the Catholic Church and was a devoted follower of Christ. Willie loved her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. The little ones truly loved going to Grandma Scholte's house, and she called it a "feast" when they came to visit. He beautiful hands made countless hats and scarves for her family and for those in need. She also made beautiful Christmas stockings for all her grandchildren.\r\n\r\nWe're so grateful for Mom, for her life and her love, her wonderful example and her incredible strength. Those who love and miss her include her eight children, Andrew (Doris), Pieter (Teena), MaryAnn (Craig), Steven (Sylvia), Paul (Patti), Jacinta, Willie (Tim), her 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
