Betty Jepson's Obituary
Betty H. Jepson, age 77, passed away on December 04, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family. She passed due to complications from a stroke. She was born May 22, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jesse M. Holland and Patrick Holland.
Betty was a nurse for 38 years. She started out with Community Nursing Service and finished her career at IHC home health after being with them for more than 20 years. She loved her patients and she loved being a nurse. Nursing was her calling. Our mom was a wonderful single mom. She loved her Bud Light’s and sitting in the sun, whether it was in the backyard enjoying her garden or on the decks at her cabin. She loved to watch the birds. She loved all birds, but hummingbirds were her favorite. Betty had a little saying that she will always be remembered for. She told countless people that she would, “I’ll slap you to sleep” or “I’ll slap you into next week”. The last two words that Betty could say were “no” and “don’t”. As her family, we got a little giggle out of this because why wouldn’t it be! Betty had a great life. She loved her life and all the craziness that came with it. She had few regrets.
Betty is survived by her daughters Susan (Mark) Carter and Sandra (Joey) Velarde. Her grandchildren, Tiffani Papach (Tony) , Tyson Carter, Lacy Carter, Natalie Velarde, Todd Carter, Daniel Carter, Kimberly Velarde and Melynda Parkyn (Ted), great-grandchildren, Kaylynn, Bryce and Sebastian and her beloved niece Kitty. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings Margie, Marie, Pat, Jack, Robert, Dorothea, Don; along with her daughter Synthia and son Nick, that she missed terribly.
We would like to thank Brian and Katrina, Inspiration Hospice and the staff from there Melissa, Brenna, Marlayna and Sue. I would also like to thank Sandra and Tyson for all there help to make our moms last weeks at home the most comfortable they could be.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a diabetic dog rescue or the Inn Between homeless hospice center.
